My Little Girl
She is looking for a sign –
what is next for her? She has heard the faint whisper of a calling
and she is looking for the sound. As she looks around she feels
the chill of the breeze and the mist that is coming off the sea.
The sea has always provided special
gifts for her: the shell with the sound of the ocean, the sand crabs
blowing bubbles, the shore - cold and wet and full of feelings and
the waves so beautiful as they come crashing home – music
to her ears.
She has been coming here for
ages looking for a sign and this time she sees the beautiful blue
and white sail of a boat billowing full with the wind. Her skirt
catches the wind and she imagines herself soaring out to sea.
Her life is shifting like the
sand seemingly without direction but always grounded by the powerful
ebb and flow of the ocean. As she steps down from the rocks and
onto the cool damp beach she notices the bottle with a message inside.
Go like the wind little one –
go like the wind….
And away she sails.
