Join Mary and Masankho to
write, read and move your personal stories! Blending the complimentary
approaches of InterPlay (http://www.interplay.org),
a practice devoted to fun through movement and song, and the Amherst
Writers and Artists Method, we will create a safe space wherein
the unique, creative voice of each person will be honored. As we build
community over these four days, you will discover parts of yourself
that were unknown or perhaps forgotten. Mary and Masankho will lead
participants through movement and stories, silence and song, ease
and amusement.
We will:
• Write in response to music, nature, movement, poetry, guided
imagery
• Share our writing with the group, if we choose to do so
• Receive supportive feedback
• Learn the language and ethic of play – InterPlay
• Immerse ourselves in the playful waters of discovery, expression
and acceptance
You
can expect to:
• Claim yourself as a Writer, Dancer and InterPlayer
• Liberate your individual voice, story and body
• Celebrate your natural movement
• Quite the inner critic
• Have plenty of free time to Relax, Rejuvenate and
Renew
Included Activities: Swimming
with sea turtles / Visit to volcanoes & waterfalls
Optional activities: Massage / African Healing Session

Retreat Leaders:
Mary Tuchscherer, MA is a nationally certified facilitator
with Women’s Legacies, is trained in the Amherst Writers and
Artists method of writing and is an adjunct faculty at John F. Kennedy
University. She leads writing workshops and retreats that support
people to value their experience through story and legacy.
Masankho Banda, MA is a Multi
- Disciplinary International Performing Artist, InterPlay Leader,
Educator, Spiritual Healer and PeaceBuilder. Recipient of the “Heroes
of Compassion” Award by His Holiness the Dalai Lama for his
peace & justice work around the world.
Retreat Cost is $999.00 – Includes
food, accommodations and retreat. Does not include airfare.
