Singing My Prayer

Hearing prayers
Through song and sensation
Invites me to lift my heart and
Sing my prayer

Returning me in my
Mind’s eye to authentic sense of self;
Wishing for all
The experience of authenticity
Diversity and acceptance

Singing my prayer
Welcomes my heart to open
And magic to come forth;
As my essence blesses the world
I am blessed in return by all those around me

My prayer is to live this…
My prayer is to encourage this…
My prayer is to hold this for others
And watch the essence grow

Singing my prayer
Reminds me to dig deep
Into what really matters and
Pull it forth until it ripples out
And touches the light
In those around me

I see the sunshine
In this state of essence
And the happiness that comes
From this place of bliss;
I pray for us all to know,
Touch, taste, embody
The pure joy of bliss

I prayed last night for
All the women suffering in the world,
May they know peace
May they find shelter
May they be loved
May they be free from fear,
Torture, rape, abuse and
Self-abandonment

My prayers
Seem so meek
And I remind myself
I am one drop of water in the ocean;
The drop that then
Becomes a wave is not separate
From the other waves
In the ocean

I am
Those who are suffering
I am
Those who are blissful
I pray
To find the courage
To hold both in my heart
With patience and compassion

Singing my prayer
Removes me from isolation
And normalizes the insanity that creeps
Under the covers at night to invade
My privacy, entering into dark
Expanses of my mind

Singing my prayer
Closes the door,
Chases the what if’s away and settles
My anxiety under the rug
Until the next day

Praying…Praying…
What if
It’s not enough?
Who let the what if’s in again?
Praying…Praying…

May you be free from fear
May you be happy
May you be healthy
May you live like the lotus
At home
In the muddy waters
